Oktoberfest 2009 and more

Last weekend we finally made it out into the greater Cincinnati area and explored a bit. On Friday when I left work to head to Cincinnati we had no real plans and it looks like a quiet relaxing weekend.

San-San had to work late on Friday (which is quite normal for her job now) so by the time she got home it was late so we ate a bit and relaxed before bed.

On Saturday morning San-San had an early meeting at a doctor's office but came home before I really had done much. We had made no plans, but remembered a previous discussion about the Oktoberfest celebration in Kentucky which happened to be this weekend. We are already getting hungry for lunch so German food and beer sounded like a great lunch to us (the beer for me).

We ate lots of good food, and I made sure to enjoy plenty of the beer, San-San had lemonade. We had bratwurst, two German potato pancakes, corn on the cob, butterscoth ice cream sundae and a lemonade.

Saturday night was the Ohio State Buckeyes game which was not on any of the tv channels we get at the apartment, so we met up with Karen near her apartment in Dayton. We watched most of the game at Champs and then listened to the rest on the way back to Cincinnati on the radio. The night was fun but unfortunately ruined near the end as the team fell apart.


Sunday we met up with a family from our Columbus church who was near Cincinnati for the weekend, and ate a great lunch at BD's Mongolian Barbecue. It was a first time for me to eat in a mongolian style but was quite good. If we ever go back I think I will be better at picking the best toppings and options.

The rest of the day was filled with relaxing and a movie.
