Last week we went to the Circleville Pumpkin Festival. It was about a 40 minute drive from our house. We didn't really know what to expect, but it was great fun for free! Everything pumpkin was there. We walked around the different food and artist vendors, peddling everything from pumpkin ice cream to pumpkin fudge to pumpkins made of glass (see above picture), and of course pumpkin pie. The best pumpkin food we sampled there was the pumpkin cheesecake.

Delicious, creamy, tasted like ice cream, but not as cold, it was perfect. We saw floats and houses decorated in all kinds of pumpkin glory. There was a huge pumpkin tower, dozens of varieties of squashes, and the biggest pumpkins that I have ever seen. The winner for this year weighed 1,375.5 pounds! Haha, I didn't know such a big deal could be made about pumpkins, but this festival has been an annual celebration for 102 years. They also had a lot of displays, art exhibits, and fair games and rides. Kind of like a mini state fair, but in the fall, and all about pumpkins.
